Fredric Brown
Fredric Brown was a prolific author of pulp fiction novels and short stories in both the mystery and science fiction genres. It was Fredric Brown's short stories for which he was most natable, particularly with other authors who recognised his genius. He was the master of the unexpected twist, the paradox as it were. Many of his stories explored the offbeat, experimenting with the written word and pushing it as far as possible.
Fredric Brown was awarded te 1947 Edgar Award for Best First Mystery with The Fabulous Clipjoint, which was the first book in his Ed and Am Hunter series. This book was followed by other well known crime novels such as The Screaming Mimi, Night of the Jabberwock and Knock Three, One, Two.
But it's Fredric Brown's vast collection of short stories that collectors can't get enough of. Thanks to the enterprising work put in by Dennis MacMillan Publishing it is possible to assemble all of Fredric Brown's crime short stories from the pulps. This series of beautifully crafted books have reprinted Fredric Brown's work and have turned them into much sought after pieces.
