Doc Savage
Doc Savage is both the name of one of the classic characters of pulp fiction from the 1930s and 40s and the name of the publication released by Street and Smith Publications. The Doc Savage character was created to take advantage of the popularity of The Shadow with the attributes designed to represent the ultimate fighter of evil. The author of the Doc Savage books is attributed to Kenneth Robeson which was the house name that hid the original author, Lester Dent and later a series of other authors.
There are 181 published Doc Savage titles spanning from 1933 to 1949. The Doc Savage were also reprinted by Bantam from the 1960s through to the 1990s with the first 96 books reprinted one for one, then the next 15 reprinted as doubles and the last 13 Bantam books were omnibus volumes containing 4 or 5 stories each.
